What is wayfinding signage?
Wayfinding signage is a coordinated system of signs and visual information that helps people understand where they are and how to reach their destination. It can include directories, directional signs, room identification, maps, level markers and accessible signage.
When should wayfinding planning begin?
Ideally, planning should begin while the interior, architectural or fit-out design is still being developed. Early involvement allows sign locations, mounting requirements, lighting and accessible elements to be considered before the space is completed.
Can you improve an existing wayfinding system?
Yes. We can review an existing environment, identify confusing routes or missing information and recommend improvements. Depending on the condition of the current system, this may involve replacing selected signs or developing a complete new strategy.
Do you provide braille and tactile signage?
Yes. Braille and tactile elements can be incorporated where required as part of the broader wayfinding system. The appropriate application will depend on the building, users and project requirements.
Can Big Image fabricate and install the signs?
Yes. Big Image provides consultancy, design, in-house fabrication and installation, allowing the project to remain coordinated from the initial strategy through to completion.
