Guiding the Way: Wayfinding and Internal Signage for Wise Asia-Pacific (Singapore)
When it comes to creating a seamless office experience, wayfinding and internal signage are key. Just recently, we had the privilege of working with Wise to design, plan, and execute their internal signage in Singapore. This project combined creativity, precision, and functional design; all tailored to Wise’s vibrant brand identity.
Formerly known as TransferWise, Wise is a British fintech company revolutionising cross-border money transfers by offering the mid-market exchange rate and low fees. Wise Singapore serves as the company’s Asia-Pacific hub, fully regulated as a Major Payment Institution with a Capital Markets Services Licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
For us, this project wasn’t just about putting signs on walls; it was about creating a workplace environment that feels intuitive, inspiring, and distinctly “Wise.”
More Than Just Signs – It’s About Navigation
Wayfinding is more than placing a few directional signs around an office. It’s about making the environment intuitive, ensuring visitors and employees can navigate with ease.
For Wise, we began with thorough space planning, carefully mapping out high-traffic areas and sightlines. This allowed us to position each sign where it would have the greatest impact in terms of visibility and clarity.
The result is an office where navigation feels effortless, and every design detail subtly reinforces Wise’s modern, global character.
Our Scope of Work for Wise
Our scope of work was extensive, covering a wide range of signage types, each one thoughtfully designed to balance aesthetics, functionality, and durability. Every element was chosen to reflect Wise’s bold yet welcoming brand identity.
- Acrylic Cut-Out: Some signs are Acrylic cut out in spray painted finish; sleek, modern, yet simple. These pieces immediately set the tone, offering a polished first impression while tying in seamlessly with the overall office design.
- Large Format Printing on Walls: Large-scale wall art with abstract textures and layered imagery gives the space a unique identity while subtly tying into Wise’s dynamic and global character. The curved gradient hallway wraps on the ceilings create an almost tunnel-like experience, and also indicates our workmanship skills.
- Vinyl Die Cut Stickers on lockers and shelves: To add a touch of playfulness, Vinyl Die-Cut Stickers were applied to lockers and shelves. These feature unique patterns and functional labels, showcasing Wise’s identity even in unexpected spaces. It’s a subtle detail that makes the office feel both branded and personalised.
- Frosted Stickers on Glass Panels: Glass panels were enhanced with Frosted Stickers, offering privacy where needed while maintaining an open, airy feel. The designs were customised to reflect Wise’s branding, proving that functionality and style can go hand-in-hand.
- 3D Front-lit Ceiling Hung Signs: The office pantry became a focal point with oversized 3D Front-Lit Ceiling Hung Signs. Bold illuminated letters spell out “PANTRY,” creating a fun, vibrant, and energising atmosphere for employees.
- Back-lit Signage on Walls: The use of back lighting of signs highlights key design features and maintains a modern feel of their corporate logo. The lighting adds depth and dimension, ensuring important branding elements stand out while keeping with Wise’s sleek corporate aesthetic.
- Customised Acrylic Lightbox: Custom Acrylic Lightboxes added another layer of impact, serving as illuminated features that draw attention to specific corners and counters. These bespoke installations embody both craftsmanship and creativity.
- Information Signs: Information Signs were strategically placed throughout the workspace. Clear, legible, and consistent with Wise’s visual identity, these signs make navigating the office easy and stress-free.
From Concept to Completion
Throughout the project, our team worked closely with Wise to ensure every piece of signage was both functional and visually striking. This meant:
Strategic planning aligned with foot traffic flow.
Design consistency across all sign types.
Use of durable, high-quality materials for longevity.
The end result is more than signage; it’s a workplace that feels intuitive, energising, and unmistakably Wise. Employees and visitors alike can move through the space with confidence, whether heading to a meeting room, the pantry, or their lockers.
