Our project at EXPO Singapore showcases the successful installation of 3 sets of 3D front-lit signage. Designed to enhance visibility and brand presence, these signage structures are firmly anchored using reinforced concrete footings to ensure stability and longevity.
The installation involved strategically positioning at key locations within the EXPO Singapore premises, surrounding its main entrances. These signage structures are crafted from high-quality materials to withstand outdoor elements while offering optimal illumination for both day and night visibility.
For structural integrity, we employed reinforced concrete footing as the foundation for the signage. The design and installation process considered several factors:
Load-Bearing Capacity: The signage dimensions and weight were carefully analyzed to determine the appropriate depth and width of the concrete footing. We have an in-house Professional Engineer to advise and endorse on stable structural supports.
Soil and Ground Assessment: A thorough site evaluation was conducted to assess the soil composition and ensure proper anchoring.
Reinforcement Strategy: Steel rebar was incorporated within the concrete footing to enhance durability and resistance to external forces such as wind and vibrations.
Installation Process
1. Site Preparation: The designated areas were marked, and excavation was carried out to the required depth. The depth of every set of signage is different, given its design and overall size; the bigger and taller the signage is it requires a deeper and bigger depth and base for structural support.
2. Formwork and Reinforcement: Concrete forms were set up, and steel reinforcement bars were placed within the mold or soil to strengthen the footing.
3. Concrete Pouring: High-strength concrete was poured into the formwork, ensuring a firm and level foundation.
4. Curing Period: The concrete was allowed to cure properly, ensuring maximum strength before mounting the signage structures. This includes well planning, labour and time in addition to just installing the logo or letter signage.
5. Signage Installation: The 3D signage units were securely affixed onto the customised aluminium base and concrete footing, followed by electrical wiring for front-lit illumination.
