Maison Garden: Crafting Signage for a Floral-Led Lifestyle Concept
Nestled in the heart of Dempsey Hill, Singapore, Maison Garden is more than just a lifestyle space; it’s a sanctuary where nature, creativity and community converge. Born from the vision of floral studio The Florté, this floral-led concept combines a café-turned-bar, a walk-in glasshouse floral market, an edible herb garden, and private event/workshop spaces into one multi-sensory retreat.
To complement such a unique environment, signage had to become part of the experience, not just a functional wayfinding tool. Big Image Group worked closely with Maison Garden to create signage that reflects their identity: modern, elegant, and seamlessly integrated with Dempsey’s natural and heritage-rich surroundings.
Signage as a Brand Experience
For lifestyle concepts like Maison Garden, signage is storytelling. Every design choice communicates the brand’s values, inviting visitors to pause, explore, and immerse themselves in the space.
At Maison Garden, signage wasn’t just about marking entrances; it was about creating atmosphere and setting the tone for what awaited inside.
We collaborated with the client to understand their aesthetic vision, ensuring every design detail aligned with both branding and the lush environment of Dempsey Road.
The main entrance signage is crafted using backlit illumination (backlit signage). Its subtle glow adds just the right amount of warmth:
Daytime: soft and unobtrusive, blending with natural surroundings.
Nighttime: glowing gently, offering visitors a welcoming ambiance without overpowering the serene setting.
Metal Signage: Simplicity with Sophistication
Maison Garden’s identity is rooted in modern elegance with a natural touch. To echo this philosophy, we incorporated metal signage featuring clean typography and natural finishes.
This choice ensured:
Durability against Singapore’s tropical climate.
A timeless look that communicates sophistication.
A design that tells visitors: “This is not just a café or flower shop—it’s an experience.”
Great signage isn’t about adding every style available; it’s about restraint and precision. For Maison Garden, we kept it minimal: lighted clean letters and sleek stainless steel metal in black finishes, perfectly balanced with the brand’s modern aesthetic.

Dempsey Hill is renowned for its heritage buildings and lush natural setting. This required delicate installation to respect the environment while enhancing the façade.
From the outset, we supported the client with drawings and documentation required for approvals under URA and BCA ALS Signage License (guide here).
Our installers ensured the signs blended seamlessly with the architecture, enhancing rather than overpowering the building’s charm.
